Experimentation was my goal with a lot of this piece. The harmonic landscape was meant to be unusual, and the "chorus" features some slippery sliding technique to keep the notes flowing as much as possible. There are two guitar solos in the song. The first occurs at 3:07 and is played by the great Steven Soderberg. The second is my own.
The concept beyond the song is one that is generally more personal than most of my others. For as long as I can remember I've had dreams that depict myself fleeing from someone or something, with the opposing force usually concealed (at least based on what my memory serves me). The scenario is always different but the general vibe is always the same. I've taken note of this more and more in recent years, and the song is a reflection of this matter.
